已经内测超过1年的二代Optane SSD(代号Alder Stream)终于要开卖
近两年随着TLC的成熟, QLC的试探以及PLC的前瞻, NAND SSD市场早已没有当年那样令人兴奋, 这也是一项新技术/产品到壮年期的体现
能让人提起兴趣的只有IMFT的3DXP和Samsung的Z-NAND, 后者依然属于NAND范畴, 而初代Optane可以说是半成品, 二代非常令人期待
二代3DXP内部升级到了2 Deck双层堆叠, 未来还会有4 Deck, 性能和容量得以进一步提升(类似MLC/TLC早期)
P5800X有400GB/800GB/1.6TB/3.2TB四个容量, 全部只有2.5" U.2 15mm, 在云服务器/数据中心用处不大的AIC被砍掉了
耐久度从30/60 DWPD提升到了100 DWPD, 3.2TB型号官参PBW达到了不可思议的584PB, 家用环境下预计终身写入寿命能接近1EB
性能方面重点提升了一代硬伤主控, 而PCIe 4.0的新特性使得3DXP介质得到了更多的释放
最大持续读取7.2GB/s(PCIe 4.0单向实际最大带宽), 最大持续写入6.2GB/s, 按照Optane的传统优势, 这个数字应该在较低的QD下就能达到
极限4KiB随机读取1.5M IOPS(6GB/s), 极限4KiB随机写入1.5M IOPS(6GB/s), 极限4KiB随机混合读70/写30爬升到了惊人的1.8M IOPS(7.2GB/s)
QOS方面, QD1 4KiB随机读取延迟99%下<6μs, QD1 4KiB随机读取/读写混合延迟99.999%下<25μs
在NAND SSD优化较为吃力的小型Block Size上(主要用于数据库缓存), P5800X的优势更加被放大, 比如512B随机读取达到了4.6M IOPS(2.3GB/s)
512B IOPS超过4KiB IOPS x3(实际带宽为后者的>1/8*3=0.375)对于NAND SSD来说简直天方夜谭, 通常NAND的512B IOPS远低于其4KiB IOPS
负载延迟方面, P4800X由于一代主控拖后腿在读写超过2.1GB/s后延迟暴增, 极限带宽下延迟呈90度直线接近NAND水平
而P5800X到7.6GB/s几乎呈一条直线, P5800X 8+GB/s的延迟和P4800X 2GB/s差不多, 提升巨大...
牙膏内部对比测试采用了P5800X 1.6TB和D7-P5600 6.4TB, CPU包括双路Gold 6254和双路Whitley(Ice Lake-SP)产前样
对比D7-P5600/P5800X/DCPMM(PM200系列)的延迟, 众所周知由于PCIe总线本身的硬/软件延迟, 基本已到极限(P4800X 10μs -> P5800X 6μs)
二代3DXP将来会应用到下一代DCPMM(代号Crow Pass), 预计2021-22年和Sapphire Rapids一起发布, 届时将采用DDR5通道, 性能大幅提升
PS: 更新Intel PCIe NVMe SSD官参1%耐久度Ranking List, DC型号均遵循JESD219测试标准, 家用环境下(持续多于随机)的实际耐久度会比这个高不少
