What AMD is being beat up for is that they made slides for the CES press briefing in the morning and then got cold feet when they heard rumors of Nvidia's RTX 50 presentation. Pulling the RDNA4 introduction information from the CES public presentation was a real act of cowardice. AMD's excuses are just lame about the CES block of time not being long enough and needing an hour to fully explain RDNA4 and FSR4. It would only take 5 to 10 minutes to say "We're releasing RDNA4", "RDNA4 is coming Q1", "We're doing our usual mayhem non-strategy of changing how we name our products", "FSR4 is coming", "Pricing to be announced", and "Stay tuned for more info near release date". AMD could have held off on the actual release date, the big in depth preview day, and the pricing. Most people would have been fine with a hazy CES announcement without any solid detail. What practically nobody, but AMD's most ardent defenders, is happy about is that AMD was so cowed by the mere mention of Nvidia's RTX 50 presentation that the Radeon Marketing Team went radio silent. The press got slides showing RDNA4. AMD's AIB partners have RDNA4 graphics cards being shown on the CES show floor and to various influencers. Everyone knows RDNA4 is coming. In the face of all that, the Radeon Marketing Team is hiding in a closet somewhere.
